Iboqaine has three specific and unique qualities that make it so advanced for this type of application.
Firstly it takes away with drawl symptoms and the uncomfortability of with drawl. Upon initial ingestion of the starting dose with drawl disappears and does not return. Thus the remaining process of detoxification takes place painlessly and is furthered by an optimum and calculated dosage of ibogaine being administered to the individual. The primary effects of which last for some 24 hours.
Secondly it has the qualities of reversing addictive/compulsive behaviour - often the destabilising forces which instigate a relapse or a continuation of previously uncontrollable behaviour. This is done through the psychological process of guided imagery similar to the experience of dreaming where the individual is able to make choices for themselves and review their behaviour and choice of behaviour in their world. In this sense an ibogaine treatment is like being re tuned mentally, emotionally and spiritually. But as with anything that is refined and tuned it requires to be maintained and respected. So what is Ibogaine? Ibogaine is an isolated element of an African shrub called Tabernanthe Iboga, which has a long societal and cultural history of usage within Western Africa and in particular Gabon. Where it has been used as a sacramental tool within traditional rite of passage ceremonies. Travelling from Africa into Europe some 100 years ago it was used in smaller doses as a stimulant in health and life force enhancing drinks similar to the original Coca-Cola. Seventy odd years later and in the heady sixties it was by chance discovered in larger dosages to have the "side effect" of taking away with drawl symptoms of opiate dependency and initially heroin. Further studies ensued and similar effects where observed with cocaine and amphetamines also. This sparked a range of clinical animal studies, which have backed up and supported the effects of ibogaine on drug dependent adults as witnessed by ibogaine's protagonists.
